The DCRC is recruiting a new Professor!
Building on the fantastic success of his knowledge transfer work, Professor Jonathan Dovey is going to be taking up the job of Directing REACT (the AHRC Knowledge Eexchange Hub for Wales and the West of England), and so there is a vacancy for the Directorship of the DCRC.
The Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education is therefore seeking to appoint a Professor in Digital Cultures.
The person appointed will become Director of the DCRC. The DCRC Director is responsible for the vision, leadership, promotion and budget of the Centre.
As part of this role the Professor will be required to develop and lead external funding bids that support the capacity of the DCRC network across UWE to undertake research projects. The role also requires a proven ability to lead the DCRC mission to support critical, creative and applied research in the field.
The DCRC is a lead partner in Watershed Media Centre’s Pervasive Media Studio and is based in its creative and multidisciplinary innovation lab in Bristol's city centre. The DCRC Director is responsible for managing the Centre’s relationship with the Studio.
The Pervasive Media Studio, brings together the computing, communication and creative industries to pioneer new forms of digital media. The studio houses commercial technology development projects and creative research. The Studio is also a base for MA teaching as well as graduate internships.
This post will also require teaching at all levels and liaison with curriculum leaders within the Creative Industries Department to translate the DCRC’s activities into the Department’s curricula and student recruitment at UG & PG levels. Experience of innovative curriculum development will therefore be an advantage.
Please see the UWE website for more details.
For further information or to discuss the role, you may contact Professor Dovey.
The closing date for applications is the 25th of March 2012.
