Dr Charlotte Crofts (@charlottecrofts) is Associate Professor Filmmaking, Department of Film & Journalism where she teaches on the BA (Hons) Filmmaking (@UWE_Film). She’s a filmmaker and creative producer working across film, locative-media and festival curation. As director of the Cary Comes Home Festival, she explores screen heritage, cinematic tourism and fan practices, curating “event cinema” experiences. She has created various location-based apps including The Curzon Memories App, The Lost Cinemas of Castle Park and she is currently developing the Looking For Archie Walking tour into an app. She is on the steering committee of Bristol City of Film, UNESCO Creative Cities Network. She is also developing a feature film adaptation of Angela Carter’s ‘Flesh and the Mirror’ which explores adaptation, textual translation and cross-cultural exchange.
