Steven Paige

Dr Steven Paige is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader MA Fine Art. His practice research is focused on the evolving relationships between digital and physical archival holdings and how these are accessed, problematised, and newly understood through a creative fine art practice. Recent Research England funded projects include ‘Experiencing the Archive’, with Arts University Plymouth and Research England delivered three discrete workshops; ‘Artist Legacy – Creating, Sustaining & Using Artist Archives’, ‘Activism – Archiving Counter Cultures & Social Practice’ and ‘Communities – LGBTQ+ narratives’. Current research is exploring the potential of sculptural, performative, and moving image practices to inhabit immersive ‘queered’ archival modes, and embodied implications of working with historic collections and narratives.
