A New Vision for City Centres

In this brand new report, Elahe Karimnia & Tarek Virani address the innovative ‘meanwhile use’ of urban spaces, a response to the challenges faced by high streets amidst financial austerity and the changing landscape of retail and cultural consumption. Working with partners ArtspaceLifespace and the Global Goals Centre, the project was based in Sparks Bristol, highlighting this initiative’s drive towards sustainability, creativity and circular economic practices.

The research represents a first collaboration between UWE’s Centre for Sustainable Planning and Environments and Digital Cultures Research Centre, supported by the CATE College Building Fund.
