Anthony Cartwright
Anthony Cartwright’s fiction centres on the lives of working-class families in the English Black Country. His work includes the novels Heartland, How I Killed Margaret Thatcher and Iron Towns. Necrosmologies, a collection of speculative short fiction, will be published by The Braag in the autumn of 2025. He is also co-editing an anthology called Transformer: Writing the Black Country for Zer0 Books. A recipient of a Betty Trask Award, his work has been shortlisted for a number of notable literary prizes. A former First Story writer-in-residence in inner London schools, he is most interested in how traditional forms of writing might evolve through immersive technologies and the potential for this to develop new and existing audiences and positively impact communities.
