Lunchtime Talk: From Bitter Ground – Form, Function and Creating the Uncanny Experience

DCRC Director and interdisciplinary artist working with print, mixed media, and immersion, Tom Abba, delivered a Pervasive Media Studio Lunchtime Talk in the studio and online in June 2023.

From Bitter Ground reflects the space between the weird and what we think of as real, composed as a set of artists’ books providing a bridge into an immersive, location-responsive experience. Tom discussed the creation of the project and explored the opportunities present in making immersive work without a stage, voices, or VR.
