Abbie Vickress is a graphic and interactive designer, researcher and educator exploring design methodologies for knowledge sharing, generation, and intervention in cultural institutions. She is a Senior Lecturer of BA Graphic Design at UWE and MA Graphic Communication Design at CSM.
Abbie has undertaken a series of research projects which are underpinned with political consideration of how the environment and context of knowledge influence or exaggerate dominant narratives and ideologies, creating barriers to a multiplicity of perspectives. Practice-based outcomes take the form of creative interventions, such as the immersive creative workshops Wiener Werkstätte and Trans-Siberian Express at The Royal Academy of Arts, part of a series of immersive projects exploring how we look at artworks through design practices and interactive experiences.
