Abigail Davies is a Script Editor working with broadcasters and film companies. She is an Associate Head in the Department of Creative and Cultural Industries at UWE and teaches screenwriting and producing. Formerly an Executive Producer and Commissioning Editor for an ITV broadcaster, Abigail was instrumental in supporting the emergence of new talent and independent production companies in the South-West of England. Her research interests are focused on Deaf filmmaking practice and informed by her work on drama development projects for the British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust. Her research on expanding orthodox script development methods to support emerging Deaf screenwriters has been presented at conferences and published in the Journal of Screenwriting https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0311-7813. Currently, Abigail is one of Bristol & Bath Creative R+D’s New Fellows.
