Ann Marie is a PhD researcher, exploring the use of evolving documentary practices to set knowledge systems in dialogue as they relate to endangered habitats.
Her research draws on oral history, ethnographic interviews, historical texts, and conservation surveys to critically reflect on the argument that knowledge systems seldom grow in isolation; instead, they typically cross-fertilise and benefit from each other. The aim is to explore whether approaching habitat conservation in this way leads us to new thinking on how to protect endangered habitats.
She is interested in polyphonic documentary practices, collaborative research methods, theories of dwelling, and new-materialist philosophies.
